Lyon’s first Hôtel des Postes is a magnificent example of Art Deco architecture. This innovative building brought together all postal activities, from the sorting centre to the departmental head office, all on the same site. Today, after its renovation conducted on an occupied site, the ‘’La Poste Village ‘’ now houses a wide range of activities, including a post office, a sorting centre, a multi-service business centre, coworking spaces and a company restaurant. These different spaces have been integrated while respecting the heritage history of the building, giving it a new lease of life. Terrell was commissioned to conduct the structural studies aimed at introducing new verticalities, as well as modifying the existing structure to meet the architectural requirements of the new project. Among the interventions conducted was the reinforcement of the concrete beams supporting the accessible terrace floor.
