Construction of an office building comprising 5 storeys in its highest parts. The ground floor is characterised by a large double-level storage space. This building’s geographic location (Pau) imposes considerable seismic constraints in the design calculations for the project’s structure. This structure is designed with a substantial mix of timber and concrete. The entire central core is constructed of reinforced concrete in order to stabilise the building with regard to horizontal forces. All around this core, a timber/concrete composite floor resting on the concrete core and around the outside on a timber post/beam structure completes this project’s structure.
