This project involves two footbridges: a first footbridge based on the existing structure of the old bridge from the “Maison du Passeur” located on the right bank by the Île aux Dames. The bridge will be of an equal width to that of the old bridge in order to accommodate all the soft modes of transport except for equestrian. There will be a second bridge overlooking the “Théâtre de Verdure” of the île aux Dames and arriving on the left bank. This bridge will have a clear width of 5 m allowing crossing over of all non-motorized traffic expect for equestrian. On the Île aux Dames side, the starting point of the bridge is set at the summit of the “Théâtre de Verdure” in order to create an impression around it. On the Mantes side, the bridge will arrive at the central point of a network for non motorized traffic. The two bridges will be connected by a path on the Île aux Dames.
