The future Cartoucherie timber tower built by Icade Promotion with Dietrich Untertrifaller Architects and Seuil Architecture won the 2019 Regional Grand Prix. Terrell is proud to be part of this WOOD’ART project.   Design construction of a mixed-use building comprising retail, hotel and housing spaces. Winner of the national Activ’Bois competition. The two block are built on a shared lower ground-floor level with walls in secant piles. The superstructure, except the concrete cores, is entirely designed as a wooden structure, with floors and bearing walls in CLT, and non-load bearing facades with a timber framework. The timber structures are prefabricated in workshops, with three-dimensional modules for the hotel and two-dimensional modules (floors and walls) for housing.  The timber remains visible for all the floor undersides except in damp rooms. The timber makes up 76% of the volume. The cladding is realized with shingles made of clay.
