This iconic, Art Deco building is being transformed by the redevelopment of the existing Haymarket House, from offices into an affordable micro hotel.

The project requires areas of demolition with widespread strengthening of existing structure, as well as the implementation of new structure to support various extensions, including a new 8th floor and a 3-storey stepped extension to the side of the existing building.

The complexity of this project becomes apparent when looking to the ground floor retail spaces, which are to remain occupied throughout the redevelopment. With multiple proposed extensions, it will be important to minimise new load coming down into the retail units in order to minimise the need for strengthening and new structure in these areas.
