TERRELL's role: Timber Roof Design from Concept to Detailed Working Design and Shop Drawings, plus Site Supervision.
This innovative & complex timber structure was engineered, manufactured and erected in partnership between Terrell, Cosylva and the main contractor Al Ahmadiah Hip Hing. The dome, designed by architects Foster + Partners, covers the library on this zero carbon sustainable university project. The cladding supports photovoltaic panels providing much of the electrical power for the facility. The timber glulam elements were manufactured in France and erected on site with minimal tolerance and fixing problems.
