WOODEN SUPERSTRUCTURE IN MONTJOIE ST DENIS
BNP Paribas Immobilier has awarded Terrell the structural engineering design for 24 400m2 of office space in the Montjoie Saint-Denis special planning district, with architects Chartier-Dalix.
One of the particularities of this building is its wooden superstructure, which will be left apparent. This feature will bring a strong and original identity to the building.
BNP Paribas Immobilier was impressed by the dynamism and expertise of the Terrell wood specialists (managed by: Davis Bruchon). This operation is a challenge for all the stakeholders, particularly Terrell, who are responsible for the structural design of the first wooden office building for one of the market’s leading promoters.
The Terrell Toulouse office designed the structure and envelope of this complex of 2550m² combining socio-cultural amenities and retail premises, seeking to redefine and revitalise the town centre of Balma in the Toulouse conurbation.
The Véronique Joffre Architecture practice opted to base this architecture on a programme seeking to combine contemporary style and expression of a regional heritage, using brick as the cladding material; a moulded brick manufactured in the Gers department, whose substance and rich palette of hues, together with the care devoted to the joints, and the precise detailing punctuated by mashrabiyas on the facade of the community hall, were considered during the design, and overseen during the execution, by the Terrell teams in close collaboration with the architects.
This project was featured in AMC of 19/01/2015.
HEADLINES FOR THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE COMMUNAUTÉ DE COMMUNES SIDOBRE-VAL D'AGOUT BUILDING
Highlighted on the cover of the December edition of the « Les Cahiers Techniques du Bâtiment », a particularly elegant and spectacular building by the agency IF Architecture in Toulouse (JM Pettes architect): the headquarters of the Communauté de Communes Sidobre-Val d’Agout in the commune of Le Bez in The Tarn (81).
The structural concept (steel) was designed and developed by the Terrell Toulouse team.
The building was designed and optimized to obtain a reduced floor and roof edge thicknesses so that the interior space remains as open as possible.
The combined talents of the architect and the Terrell team, has enabled such an architectural and technical success for this building which was designed in spired by a well-known local landscape feature “the Peyro Clavado”, an enormous granite rock balanced on a miniscule base.
